It is a dewormer that contains two active ingredients: moxidectin and praziquantel. Quest Plus Equine Gel is used to treat and control common equine parasites such as large and small strongyles, encysted cyathostomes, ascarids, pinworms, hairworms, stomach bots, and tapeworms. It is administered orally, and the dosage is based on the horse’s weight. Dosage and Adminstration:It is important to follow the dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian or on the product label carefully. Generally, the recommended dose of Quest Plus Equine Gel is 0.4 mg/kg of moxidectin and 2.5 mg/kg of praziquantel, which is equivalent to one 11.3 g syringe per 1250 lb of body weight. To set the dose, turn the white dial ring on the syringe until the left side of the ring lines up with the weight of the animal in 50-pound increments. Then, administer the gel orally by placing the syringe tip in the space between the horse’s teeth and gently pushing the plunger until it stops, depositing the gel on the back of the tongue. Finally, raise the horse’s head slightly to ensure it swallows the gel, and replace the syringe cap for reuse.
